Wild Koala Day on May 3 was celebrated with 12 events from Queensland to South Australia, one radio interview (Janine Duffy – Seymour Radio), one petition with 13K signatures from the residents of Esk QLD, emails to politicians encouraged by Save Ferny Forest, Save Sydney’s Koalas and Koala Clancy Foundation; four dedicated videos by Port Macquarie Koala Hospital, Magnetic Island Koala Hospital, Koala Gardens at Tuckurimba and Koala Clancy Foundation, and hundreds of mentions across all social media platforms.
The intention of Wild Koala Day is to highlight regional issues for koalas in the most relevant way for the local community. Every group that participates does so in the best way for them and their local region.
